Pelican Catch 110HDII

Pedal propulsion, with a rudder and a fishing layout.

The Catch 110HDII is the pedal-drive model in this selection. A HyDryve II system and rudder controls distinguish it from the paddle-powered Catch Classic and Mode kayaks. An Ergocast G2 seat sits between the front and rear storage areas.

Pedal system

The HyDryve II drive uses pedals and underwater fins. Treat the drive and rudder as equipment that needs its own checks, not as ordinary deck fittings.

Angler equipment

Three flush-mounted rod holders, gear tracks and tackle-box or bottle holders are listed.

Seat and storage

The Ergocast G2 seat adjusts, with an eight-inch hatch and separate tankwells for gear.

Where it fits

This is the model to compare when using your legs for propulsion is central to the outing. Think through launch depth, the drive-handling procedure and where removable equipment will travel in your vehicle.

The trade-off

The listed 67 lb weight does not clearly establish the complete launch-ready load with every removable component. Ask for both hull and equipped weights. Carrying a pedal kayak involves more than comparing two headline numbers.

Metric conversions are rounded from the published inch and pound figures. Weight is a published reference, not an independent measurement. Confirm included equipment and the load guidance for the exact kayak.

Specification check. The manufacturer narrative and equipment list specify HyDryve II pedal propulsion, but a generic table field says “Paddle.” This page follows the explicit drive description. The 67 lb published weight is not labeled clearly enough to call it hull-only or fully rigged.

Before you choose

Confirm the drive, fins, rudder, controls and seat are included, particularly on a used kayak. Keep a paddle available and follow the drive manual around shallow water and obstacles.

Work through the choosing checklist and plan transport and storage before the first outing.
