Pelican Mustang 100X EXO

Pack the removable bag before you leave home.

The Mustang 100X EXO pairs a 10-foot sit-in hull with an Exopod 17 L removable storage compartment. Load the bag indoors, carry it to the launch and place it in the rear tankwell. An adjustable Ergoform backrest and a front hatch round out the layout.

Removable storage

The 17 L Exopod lifts out of the rear tankwell. It is a different accessory from the ExoChill cooler supplied with the Argo 100X EXO.

Cockpit details

The selected configuration includes a phone holder, molded footrests and an adjustable backrest.

Hull dimensions

At 120 inches long and 29 inches wide, the Mustang is one inch wider than the Argo 100X reference configuration.

Where it fits

Consider the Mustang when removable storage and a little more published carrying capacity matter, but you still want a compact solo sit-in. Packing a separate bag also lets you leave the kayak empty while moving it.

The trade-off

Its 39 lb published weight is 3 lb above the Argo 100X; maximum capacity rises from 275 to 300 lb. Those numbers do not settle cockpit fit. The seating position and the distance to the footrests still need an in-person check.

Specification check. The manufacturer description identifies molded footrests, while its specification table says adjustable footpads. Inspect the reference boat rather than assuming either fitting from the model name.

Before you choose

Confirm the full model name includes EXO and that the removable compartment is included. An older Mustang, another color SKU or a used boat may have a different seat or missing accessories.
