Pelican Sentinel 100

An open deck without a fishing-heavy layout.

The Sentinel 100 is a recreational sit-on-top with molded footrests, an adjustable Ergoform backrest and open storage. It gives you a different seating layout from the Argo rather than a longer boat: both reference models measure 10 feet.

Open seating area

There is no enclosed cockpit around your legs. Check the footrest positions and seat fit on the actual boat.

Bow and stern storage

The rear tankwell has bungee cords; a bow storage area keeps another part of the load away from your feet.

Everyday fittings

A dual-position bottle holder and molded footrests keep the equipment list fairly simple.

Where it fits

Compare the Sentinel with an Argo when the decision is about an open deck versus a sit-in cockpit. For occasional warm-weather outings, that difference may matter more than the small difference in the published weights.

The trade-off

The Sentinel 100 is not the Sentinel 100X Angler. The Angler reference is six inches shorter and has fishing-specific storage and rod holders. Do not transfer its equipment list to this recreational model.

Metric conversions are rounded from the published inch and pound figures. Weight is a published reference, not an independent measurement. Confirm included equipment and the load guidance for the exact kayak.

Specification check. Weight conflict: the manufacturer specification table lists 40 lb; the description lists 43 lb. This site uses 40 lb in comparisons and flags the discrepancy.

Before you choose

Verify weight with the seller before planning a solo roof lift. The source page contains two different figures, and neither should be treated as a guarantee of what your particular boat weighs.

Work through the choosing checklist and plan transport and storage before the first outing.
